Depending on the vehicle and transmission, adjustments may include shift speeds, shift timing, shift firmness, torque limits, clutch pressure, and transmission behavior under acceleration.

A TCM tune can help deliver quicker, more decisive shifts, improved power delivery, and better coordination between the engine and transmission, allowing the vehicle to make better use of the additional power and torque from an ECU tune.
